Who You Are Matters

I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. While I moved around a lot within Las Vegas, it is my home and where my family and friends are from.

After I graduate, I would like to stay in California and pursue entrepreneurship. I enjoy working with kids so I would like to pursue something that allows me to fulfill this passion. I will continue to explore different industries with children to see where there is a gap that I can fill. I currently run a club called Lemonade Day that educates children on business at local elementary schools. Through experiences like this one I will explore different opportunities to pursue.

I am similar to my dad as we share similar attitudes about education, work ethic, and ambition. We are wired in a similar way. However, I am unlike my dad as I am more sensitive to people's emotions, needs, and feelings.

I strongly feel that I have my own expectations for myself. I know the standards that I hold myself to and what I would like to achieve. This is defined by my own goals, intrinsic motivation, and personal life balance. While I am aware that others have their opinions and advice, I listen but ultimately do what I think is best for myself.

My best friend's mother serves as a role model for me as someone who lives life with great passion and responsibility. She has had a difficult life and is a single mother of three. Despite her adversities, she continues to be the strongest person I know. She inspires me to overcome anything that comes my way. No matter what she has going on in her personal life, she continues to provide an amazing life for her children and work in a field that she loves.

I feel a special connection with hawk. They are able to soar above the world and separate themselves from everything and everyone. They can look at things from a holistic perspective. Whenever I feel overwhelmed I try to detach and look at things from a bird's eye perspective.

When I was younger, my dad would work at his medical practice while my sister and I played around the building and waited for him to finish. There was this tree in the front of the building that my sister and I would love to climb and sit at the top for hours on end. We fought a lot as kids, but when we were at then top of this tree we would talk, laugh, and lose track of time. I felt the closest to my sister when we were in that tree together.

  1. Ariya, I love what you said able the hawk and how they are able to have a wider perspective on things. I also really liked your story about the tree you and your sister would play on when you were younger.

  2. I love your club's logo! Also, my high school's mascot was a hawk and "soar above the rest" was our slogan.

  3. I loved that you chose a hawk as a spirit animals and i chose a bird too for the similar reason of how they have the ability to be free and it must be so calming to fly .

  4. I'm a Scorpio too! Something I love about us Scorpios is that we are some of the most passionate and love consuming people where we will choose loyalty over anything.

  6. I enjoyed listening to your story about sharing laughs with your sister around the tree at your dad's office. When my younger brother and I would wait for my dad to finish up his work, we would hangout, talk, and laugh too, however our relationship has definitely changed as we both grew up.

sidenote: Were you named after the Aria hotel by chance?
